Shape & Flavour: Tiny, glistening, bead-like beauties, our black gram are often called Beluga lentils. They are hearty, rounded black pulses with a very rich, earthy flavour. An affordable luxury you do not want to miss on your plate!
Versatile Usage: Mash our black grams up into meatless meatballs, toss them into your salads or simply enjoy them as a hearty dal makhani – a famous velvety lentil stew from India you should definitely try! Or how about a scrumptious buddha bowl, tacos and burritos with black lentils? You can get as creative as you: these dark pulses will invigorate your dishes!
Nourishing & Stimulating: A folate all-star - our black lentils are loaded with vital B complex vitamins, dietary fibres for your healthy gut and proteins providing you with amino acids. Small, but oh my!
Cooking Time: Cook our black grams in your instant pot for about 11 minutes, in your pressure cooker for six whistles. Depending on quantity, their soaking time is around 30 minutes to four hours. Please note – please wash and rinse them thoroughly under running water prior cooking! But then, you get to enjoy the queen of Indian lentils!
Fun Fact: Beluga lentils are so named because they resemble the luxurious, black beluga caviar.
Storage: Like any dried bean, black lentils should be kept in an airtight, dry container in the pantry or another cool, dark spot.
