    About the product


    Desi Gajar, also known as Delhi carrot, marks the onset of winter in India. The markets are then full of those long and slender ruby red carrots that are only available during this season. These Red Carrots are rich in color, flavor & are a little sweeter in taste, compared to regular carrots. Due to their sweet aroma, red carrots are ideal for making desserts, salads & stews. 

     

    Storage & Use:
    Carrots feel most comfortable in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator. If you want to be particularly careful with the vegetables, you can also wrap them in a damp cloth. Desi carrots are sweeter, juicier and crunchier and are therefore preferred for the preparation of desserts. They also taste great as an ingredient in salads.

     

    Benefits:
    Red carrots get their colour from beta-carotene, the naturally occurring group of pigments that determine the colour of many fruits and vegetables. Beta-carotene is essential for the production of vitamin A, which is necessary for good eyesight. Another compound called lycopene, which is also found in tomatoes, is also responsible for the reddish colour. Lycopene protects against free radicals due to its high antioxidant properties.
