    Schani’s authentic Indian black gram, also known as Urid whole beans, are a premium culinary staple. These tiny, glistening, bead-like pulses are often called Beluga lentils for their striking resemblance to fine caviar. They feature a remarkably rich, earthy flavor and a hearty, rounded texture that provides a sophisticated base for various dishes. Highly versatile in the kitchen, these lentils are a central ingredient in celebration staples like the velvety Dal Makhani. They are also ideal for creative contemporary applications, including meatless meatballs, salads, Buddha bowls, tacos, and burritos. Suitable for both vegan and vegetarian diets. To prepare, wash and rinse the pulses thoroughly under running water. Depending on the desired consistency, soaking time ranges from 30 minutes to four hours. Cook in an instant pot for approximately 11 minutes or in a pressure cooker for six whistles. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to preserve their quality.
